Washington Ferry Cameras – Privacy and Information

This channel is not affiliated with Washington State Ferries or DOT. It is a free, third-party application for Roku devices that renders public camera data available at https://www.wsdot.com/ferries/vesselwatch/CameraDetail.aspx. You can read more about the application and download the code at https://shutdownhook.com.

There are no fees associated with the application. It does not contain ads and does not track users or usage beyond what is automatically collected by Roku for every application. The only internet requests made by the app download the list of cameras and live images from the WSDOT site. Unfortunately I can’t guarantee that the cameras are always up to date and working, but they seem quite reliable (and tons of people complain when they aren’t).

If you have issues or questions, you can reach me using the “Contact” link at the top of the page. I hope you find the channel useful and entertaining!

Using the Application

The channel shows a list of ferry terminals on the left, and camera images from the highlighted terminal on the right. Use the up and down arrows and the OK button to choose a new terminal. The images will rotate slowly or use the left and right arrows to scroll.

The channel will remember the last-selected terminal, so if you have a “home” terminal it should come up right away. That’s about it — pretty simple!
